What it is:

This workshop outlines simple steps that will make the essay writing portion of the STAAR/EOC assessment less threatening. Participants will explore approaches for elementary and secondary ESL and ELA teachers to scaffold instruction and boost students’ performance on the essay portion of the STAAR/EOC. The workshop includes an opportunity to examine the required elements of the essays and learn how to help students incorporate these elements into their writing.
