Dr. Melinda Miller

Educational Consultant

Dr. Melinda Miller is a Professor of Literacy at Sam Houston State University, where she has been a member of the faculty since 2001. She currently teaches at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels. She previously taught public school in the classroom and as a Reading Specialist for 11 years. After completing an undergraduate degree in Education at the University of Texas, she received her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading from Sam Houston State University and her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading  from Texas A&M University. She has published over 50 articles and presented internationally.

Additionally, Melinda is the co-author of Reading and Writing with English Learners: A Framework for K-5, along with Valentina Gonzalez; and the author of Finding the Magic: Emergent Readers and Writers. She has been an Educational Consultant with Seidlitz since January of 2015.
